These terms govern your use of compliantbook.com and any purchase of our downloadable documents. By using the site or buying a product you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
1. Who we are

2. What we provide
We provide (a) free reference material about EU product compliance legislation, and (b) paid, downloadable document templates. Both are information products. They are supplied as-is, are identical for every customer, and are not tailored to your circumstances.
3. What we are not
We are not a law firm, a notified body, a conformity assessment body, an accredited certifier, a consultancy or a regulator. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by the European Union, the European Commission, ENISA, any standardisation body or any Member State authority. 4. Your responsibility for compliance
Compliance with EU law is the sole responsibility of the manufacturer, importer, distributor or other economic operator concerned. Our templates give you a document structure; they do not perform your conformity assessment, your risk assessment or your testing, and completing one does not make a product compliant. You must verify that the content, structure and applicable legal references are correct and current for your product, your regulation and your circumstances before relying on them.
5. Accuracy and currency
We take accuracy seriously and cite sources. Legislation, guidance and standards change. Every page carries a review date; material may be out of date after that date. We give no warranty that any content is accurate, complete or current, and you should check the primary legal sources, which we link to, for anything that matters.
6. Purchases, payment and delivery
- Prices are shown in euro and, where applicable, include tax calculated at checkout for your location.
- Payment is processed by our reseller, who acts as merchant of record. Your contract of sale for the product is with that reseller; these terms govern the licence to use what you receive. How payment data is handled →
- Products are delivered electronically, by download link shown after payment and sent by email. Delivery is immediate.
- No account is created and no login is required.
- Twelve months of updates are included, sent to the email address used at purchase.
7. Refunds and the right of withdrawal

8. Licence

9. Intellectual property
All content on this site, including text, templates, graphics, logos and code, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other rights. Quotations from EU legislation are reproduced from official sources; EU legislative texts are not covered by our copyright. "Compliant Book" and our logo are our marks. You may quote short extracts of our free reference material with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce it substantially, or republish it, without written permission.
10. Acceptable use
You must not: use the site unlawfully; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it; interfere with its operation; scrape it at a rate that degrades service for others; use it to build a competing compilation of our content; or remove or obscure any proprietary notice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We exclude all implied warranties and conditions.
- We are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, contracts, anticipated savings, data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- We are not liable for any regulatory finding, penalty, enforcement action, product withdrawal, recall, delay, rejected conformity assessment or third-party claim arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything obtained from this site.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the site and any product, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
12. Availability
We do not guarantee the site will be available uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of it without notice.
13. Third-party links
We link to primary legal sources and other third-party sites for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link is not an endorsement.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. The date at the top shows when this version was published.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of [[GOVERNING LAW COUNTRY]], and the [[COURTS OF ...]] have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in the European Union you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
16. Severability
