Cookies and browser storage

We set no cookies. No analytics, no advertising, no social widgets, no fingerprinting, no third-party scripts of any kind on the pages you are reading. Two small items are stored in your browser, both only after you act, and neither is sent to us.

What is stored, and when

Neither contains personal data. Neither is transmitted to our server or to anyone else. Neither can identify you. If you never touch the theme toggle and never dismiss the notice, nothing is stored at all.

Why there is no consent banner. Consent under the ePrivacy rules is required for storage that is not strictly necessary for a service you requested. Both items above are set only as the direct result of an action you took, to deliver a preference you expressed, and neither is used for tracking. Showing you a consent dialogue for storage we do not use to track you would be theatre, and it would imply we collect more than we do. If we ever add anything that does require consent, we will ask for it properly, before setting it, with a genuine refuse option.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard request logs — IP address, the page requested, the time, and the user agent string — to keep the site running and to stop abuse. These are not cookies and are not linked to any profile. They are deleted after 14 days at the latest. Legal basis and details →

When you buy something

Checkout is handled by our payment reseller. Their checkout does set cookies that are strictly necessary to process the transaction you asked for, and they are an independent controller for that processing. Their notice is shown at checkout. Nothing from their checkout runs on the pages you are reading now.

Removing what is stored

Clear site data for compliantbook.com in your browser settings, or use private browsing. Nothing will break; the site will simply forget your theme choice.

Third parties: there are none

Every file this site loads — the page, the stylesheet, the two small scripts, the images and the typefaces — comes from compliantbook.com. There are no fonts from Google, no scripts from a CDN, no embedded videos, no maps, no chat widget and no social buttons. Your browser contacts one server: ours. You can confirm it in your browser's network tab in about ten seconds, and we would rather you did than take our word for it.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honour both by default, because we do not track anyone in the first place.
