Accessibility statement

Conformance status

We assess this site as fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Fully conformant means the content meets all Level A and Level AA success criteria, based on our own evaluation. We are not aware of any non-conformance. If you find one, it is a defect and we will fix it — see "Report a barrier" below.

What we have done

• Colour contrast. Every text and background pair, in both light and dark themes, has been computed and meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text. Interface component boundaries and focus indicators meet 3:1 against their surroundings.
• Keyboard. Every function is operable from a keyboard alone, including the menu, the theme toggle, the compliance checker and every form. Focus order follows reading order, focus is always visible with a high-contrast indicator, and nothing traps focus. The mobile menu can be closed with Escape and returns focus to the button that opened it.
• Skip link. A visible-on-focus skip link is the first focusable element on every page.
• Structure. One h1 per page, headings in order with no skipped levels, landmark regions, lists marked up as lists, and tables with proper header cells, scopes and captions.
• Images and graphics. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology. Informative graphics — including the scope decision diagram — have text equivalents that convey the same information, available to everyone rather than hidden in an alt attribute.
• Forms. Every control has a visible, programmatically associated label. Errors are announced, described in text, and identify what to do. Nothing relies on placeholder text as a label.
• Motion. The background and hero animations respect prefers-reduced-motion; when it is set, they do not run at all. No content flashes, and nothing moves for more than five seconds without a way to stop it.
• Zoom and reflow. Content reflows to a single column at 320 CSS pixels wide with no horizontal scrolling, and remains usable at 400% zoom. Text spacing can be overridden without loss of content.
• Target size. Interactive targets meet the 24×24 CSS pixel minimum of WCAG 2.2, and most are considerably larger.
• Status messages. Theme changes, form results and checker outcomes are announced through a polite live region without moving focus.
• No time limits, no auto-playing media, no carousels, no modal interruptions, and no content that requires a pointing device.

How we test

• Automated checks on every page at build time, including computed contrast ratios for every colour pair, heading order, landmark structure, form labelling, link text quality and alternative text presence.
• Manual keyboard-only traversal of every page and every interactive component.
• Testing at 320px width, at 400% zoom, and with increased text spacing.
• Testing in both colour themes and with the system reduced-motion preference set.

Technical specifications

This site relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. All content and all functionality — including the compliance checker — work without JavaScript, with the exception of the theme toggle and the mobile menu, which degrade to a visible always-expanded navigation.

Known limitations

None currently identified. Two areas are outside our direct control and we mention them for honesty: third-party checkout pages when you buy a template are operated by our payment reseller and are subject to their own accessibility statement; and downloadable documents in DOCX, XLSX and PDF format are structured with headings, table headers and reading order, but we do not claim PDF/UA conformance. If you need a template in an alternative accessible format, ask us and we will provide one at no charge.

Report a barrier

If anything on this site prevents you from doing what you came to do, email contact@compliantbook.com. Tell us the page and what happened. We aim to respond within two working days and to fix accessibility defects ahead of other work. If you are not satisfied with our response, tell us and we will escalate it internally; EU users may also contact the relevant national enforcement body.

Self-evaluation against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, using automated checks integrated into the build plus manual testing. Statement prepared 11 September 2026 and reviewed whenever the site changes materially.
